What resolution is recommended for images in my artwork?

For optimal print quality, we recommend providing your artwork at a minimum of 300dpi (dots per inch) at actual size. 'Actual size' refers to the dimensions your image will appear in the final print; for example, a 300dpi image that is 300 by 300 pixels should print at exactly one inch by one inch to maintain its resolution.

If that same image is scaled larger, the effective dpi decreases. Conversely, if a 100dpi image is printed at a third of its original size, it will be rendered at 300dpi.

If any of this feels unclear—don’t worry. Our team checks every file and will alert you during the soft proof stage if there are any concerns about print resolution.
