Should I convert fonts to outlines in Adobe Illustrator?
Yes, definitely ... but ...
For the most reliable print results, we recommend converting your live text to outlines before submitting fonts for printing. This ensures the best way to guard against any subtle (or not so subtle) changes to your chosen fonts, spacing, weights, and alignment remain consistent and accurate throughout the production process.
However, if you anticipate there is a possibility that you would need edits, alterations, or alternate versions of your document—either now or in the future—leaving your fonts as live text can make revisions easier.
If you decide to leave your fonts live to allow for future edits, be sure to send us the fonts used in your artwork. Even if we have the same font in our library, the copy or version you have may differ slightly from ours. Therefore, including your copy for us to use is the safest option.
